01 / Agreement

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Outer Box Learning Co. website, Learning Path Scorecard, and related call-request features. By using the site or submitting the Scorecard, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old to submit the Scorecard or request a Parent Path Call. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not submit information through the site.

02 / Our role

Educational support—not a school

Outer Box provides educational planning and homeschool support for parent-directed education. Outer Box is not presented as:

  • an accredited school, private school, school district, or diploma-granting institution;
  • a law firm or provider of legal advice;
  • a medical, psychological, diagnostic, or mental-health provider; or
  • a guarantor of grade placement, graduation, college admission, scholarship eligibility, athletic eligibility, or any specific academic result.

Any recommendations are educational planning guidance based on the information available at the time. Families should consult qualified professionals when legal, medical, diagnostic, or other specialized advice is needed.

03 / Parent direction

Parents remain responsible

Parents and guardians remain responsible for selecting and supervising the student’s education, deciding whether recommendations fit the student, maintaining required records, arranging required evaluations, and complying with all laws and program rules that apply to their chosen educational setting.

Florida home-education requirements are the parent’s responsibility.

Florida law includes parent responsibilities related to notice, portfolios, record retention, and annual evaluation. Requirements can change and may differ by educational setting. Review the current Florida Legislature’s home education statute and obtain qualified advice when needed.

Outer Box tools and records are designed to support organization. They do not automatically satisfy every legal, district, scholarship, admissions, or athletic-eligibility requirement.

04 / Self-assessment

What the Scorecard means

The Learning Path Scorecard is a parent self-assessment based entirely on the answers you provide. Its score, level, priority, and suggested focus areas are informational starting points—not a student assessment, diagnosis, legal determination, accreditation review, or independent verification of learning.

Submitting the Scorecard or requesting a Parent Path Call does not create an enrollment relationship, guarantee acceptance, reserve a Founding Family place, or require either party to purchase or provide services.

You agree to provide accurate adult contact information and not to submit a child’s full name, diagnosis, school records, financial information, passwords, or other sensitive information through the Scorecard.

05 / Enrollment

Paid services and offers

Paid services, memberships, billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, scheduling, deliverables, and any founding-family offer will be governed by the enrollment or checkout terms presented before purchase. A purchase is not complete until those terms are accepted and payment is confirmed.

Website descriptions and promotional prices may be corrected, changed, suspended, or withdrawn before acceptance. Once a paid agreement is accepted, its written terms control if they conflict with this general website page.

06 / Other platforms

Independent resources

The site may mention or link to Khan Academy, Instagram, Google, or other independent platforms. These references do not mean that the provider sponsors, endorses, or partners with Outer Box. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

Outer Box is not responsible for the availability, content, security, accessibility, pricing, or decisions of independent services.

07 / Site conduct

Acceptable use

You may use the site for lawful personal and family educational-planning purposes. You may not:

  • submit false contact information, impersonate someone, or create fraudulent call requests;
  • upload or transmit malicious code, interfere with the form, or attempt unauthorized access;
  • collect information about other users or test the site for vulnerabilities without written permission;
  • copy, resell, or commercially exploit Outer Box materials without permission; or
  • use the site in a way that violates law or another person’s rights.

We may restrict access, disregard submissions, or take appropriate action when we reasonably believe the site is being misused.

08 / Brand and content

Intellectual property

The Outer Box name, logo, site design, original copy, Scorecard presentation, campaign language, and original educational-planning materials are owned by or licensed to Outer Box and are protected by applicable law. No ownership rights transfer to you through site access.

You may save or print your own Scorecard result for personal family use. Any other reproduction, distribution, modification, public display, or commercial use requires prior written permission unless the law permits it without permission.

09 / Limits

Disclaimers and liability

The site and free Scorecard are provided on an “as available” basis. We work to keep information accurate and the form operational, but we do not promise that the site will always be uninterrupted, error-free, current, secure, or suitable for every family.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outer Box disclaims implied warranties relating to the site and free Scorecard. Outer Box will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of—or inability to use—the site or free Scorecard.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or responsibility that cannot legally be excluded. Terms for paid services may provide different or additional protections.

10 / Administration

Florida law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

We may update these Terms as the site or services develop. Revised Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means the revised Terms apply to later use.
