01 / Scope
Who this policy is for
Outer Box Learning Co. ("Outer Box," "we," "us," or "our") is a Gainesville, Florida-based educational planning and homeschool-support service. This policy applies to information collected through this website, the Outer Box Learning Path Scorecard, and related Parent Path Call requests.
The website and Scorecard are intended for adults—especially parents and legal guardians—not for children to use independently. By submitting the Scorecard, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are providing your own contact information.
02 / Information
What we collect
When you complete the Learning Path Scorecard, we collect only the information needed to calculate the result, understand the family’s general situation, and respond if you request follow-up.
Parent or guardian name, email address, and an optional phone number.
Florida county, student grade band, and current education setting.
Your ten ratings, calculated score, result level, and two priority areas.
Consent status, timestamps, call-request status, page address, and campaign or referral tags in the link you used.
Please do not submit private student records.
Do not enter a child’s full name, diagnosis, medical or mental-health information, school records, exact home address, Social Security number, financial information, passwords, or other sensitive personal information in the Scorecard or an Instagram message.
If you voluntarily provide additional information while communicating with us, we will use it only for the reason you provided it and as otherwise described in this policy.
03 / Purpose
How we use information
We use submitted information to:
- calculate and display your Learning Path Scorecard result;
- save the response in our private lead-management sheet;
- respond to a Parent Path Call request or related question;
- understand which general learning needs and content sources bring families to Outer Box;
- protect the form, investigate misuse, and maintain site security; and
- meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
We do not use a Scorecard response to diagnose a student, make a legal determination, or guarantee enrollment, advancement, or an educational result.
05 / Website operation
Technical data and tracking
Outer Box has not added behavioral-advertising pixels to this version of the website. Our hosting and form-service providers may automatically process standard technical information—such as an IP address, browser or device information, request time, and security logs—to deliver and protect their services.
The Scorecard also reads campaign parameters included in the page address, such as utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign. These help us understand whether a submission came from Instagram or another campaign source. We do not use those tags to identify a child.
06 / Care
Retention and security
We retain Scorecard and call-request records for up to 24 months after the most recent interaction, then delete or anonymize them unless a longer period is reasonably needed for a legal obligation, dispute, fraud prevention, or safety matter.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information, including restricted access to the response sheet and account security controls. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please follow the instruction not to submit sensitive student records.
07 / Parent control
Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the contact information and Scorecard response associated with you. You may also tell us not to follow up about services. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Send a direct message to @outerboxlearningco on Instagram with the words “Privacy Request.” Do not include sensitive information in the message. We will arrange a safer way to confirm the request.
08 / Children
Children’s privacy
Outer Box markets this website and Scorecard to parents and guardians, not directly to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 through the Scorecard. If we learn that a child submitted personal information without appropriate parental involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Parents should submit only their own contact information and the non-identifying learning context requested by the form.
09 / Updates
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Outer Box’s services, technology, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and change the effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively unless the law requires otherwise.
